Yum Yum Cha

First and foremost:

Part of the the charm of Dim Sum is a crowded room with only Chinese speaking people carting around various dim sum specialties.

A little chaotic for the white guys and gals like me..but ... I LOVE IT.

Remove the chaos, carts, and relative far drive to Chinatown...then add in English speaking service and you've got Yum Yum Cha.

AND I STILL LOVE IT.

I am not much of a pork person, so I stick primarily with the shrimp options. Here are my recs:

-Chinese Broccoli
-Steamed Shrimp Dumpling
-Shrimp with Eggplant
-Shrimp Rice Balls
-Fried Shrimp Rolls

and...when you are over all the shrimp and ready for sweet heaven..

-the pan fried red bean cake (make sure to get the flattened kind as opposed to the ball version).

I can understand why yelpers who were born and raised on authentic dim sum can hate on a place like Yum Yum Cha. However, I have spoken with the owner and I truly believe their product is just as legit, it just  lacks the authentic dim sum atmosphere.

So why the 4 and not the 5?

1) They are randomly not open on Tuesdays. And like Chic-Fil-A on Sundays.....you always end up getting the "Yum Yum Cha" shakes on Tuesday. UGH!

2) Service depends on the mood of the waitress (there is only 1) that day. She has warmed up to my friends over the years....but she has her "I'd rather be dying my hair than waiting on  you" moments every now and then..

As far as tips:
1) orders usually come in 3s or 4s
2) Order slowly so your eyes are not bigger than your stomach
