Oishii is synonymous with the Buy 1 get 1 Free happy hour.
Here is what you need to know before you go:
Get here at 6pm at the absolute latest. The place is SMALL and there is always a long line for happy hour. If you are not seated by 7, you are SOL.
I am one of those people who can't decide if I want simple pieces of nigiri OR some super fun rolls (w/ tons of ingredients) OR something spicy OR sweet OR crunchy.....
Which is why I always share sushi combo B = AKA BEST DEAL EVER.
You get the best of all worlds: 2 miso soups, 2 pieces of 5 different types of nigiri (tuna, salmon, yellowtail, escolar and peppercorn tuna) 1 roll with eel, avocado, mayo and other fun stuff, and another roll with shrimp tempura topped with crab and masago.
Head to Oishii when the plan is to get quick, good sushi without all the fancy lychee martinis, posh decor, and techno music. This is no hipster hang out.
Note to reader: I am still all about going to a posh sushi joints like Sushi King or AKA - but sometimes it's nice to go hole-in the wall style.
