Taverna has me wrapped around it's little finger. What a great spot!

My favorite Austinite brought me here for Saturday brunch - STELLAR.

We chose to sit on the adorable umbrella clad patio. Our ears started ringing the second we heard about $1 mimosas and bellinis. Seeing as I prefer less sweetened beverages, I opted for the $7 "make your own bloody mary".

Yes, Taverna rocks a blood mary bar! My attentive waiter served me with a tall glass of Tito's spicy vodka and directed me inside to an array of bloody mary mixes, celery, olives, baby corn, celery salt.....you get the point. Marvelous.

Once we started feeling pretty good, it was time to order from the most delectable brunch menu I've ever seen. That's when I saw the 2 ingredients that make my heart pitter patter: garlic and truffle oil...

...I knew I needed to select the truffle infused pan fried eggs on garlic bread...Heaven, people, Heaven.

My friend ordered the special which was some sort of poached eggs over smoked brisket dish. She (being very petite) inhaled the generous portion of awesomness.

Our waiter also recommended the rosemary parmesan foccacia bread for starters....A MUST.

Clearly, I have no complaints regarding this fabulous Italian eatery. I plan on returning for lunch / dinner as their pizzas looked fab.

Taverna.....you really got a hold on me.
