I finally kicked off crawfish season after holding out for bigger "daddies" this past Sunday evening. RELIEF!
I find it most appropriate to commence crawfish season at Ragin Cajun, as this is where my love affair with them began 3 years ago (life was different back then).
My two gal pals and I ordered 3.5 lbs of crawdads, boudin balls, hush pups, and a Blue Moon beer bucket and wound up paying $18 each (a lil pricier than we hoped, but well worth it).
The daddies were bigger than expected (considering it's not April yet) and cooked to perfection. We added a tad more seasoning, since we craved the "can't feel my lips....need more beer" tingle. By the end of the bucket...Rajin Cajun had three happy customers.
I can't recommend the boudin balls (not my style) but the hush puppies were a great accompaniment to our beloved crawfish.
The atmosphere at Ragin is perfection. Ordering at the front bar is a breeze and your meal comes out in minutes. The staff is super friendly and contribute to the casual vibe.
Bonus! I joined their free "Craw Club" and look forward to polishing off more crawfish in the remaining season on a discount. YA!
Friendly Tip: Avoid parking near the dumpster...you may end up with permanent stink eye.
