A massage is a treat, a luxury, and something that leaves you fully relaxed.

Eek! Methinks not.......at Massage Envy.

I have so many issues with this place. Perhaps the concept as a whole bothers me....massages in bulk?

My first encounter at Massage Envy was through a gift certificate. Three free massages? SCORE!

When I arrived, I felt like I was in a busy doctor's office....not relaxing at all. Alas, I was called in to a very chilly room where the massage was going down. I think the tables are heated, but I was still pretty tense from freezing.

The massage itself just didn't do it for me. "I've had better" is an understatement.

Here is the kicker. I had 2 more gift certificates to use, but was in no hurry to use them since my last trip left something to be desired.

A few months later, I scheduled my next appointment to find out something along the lines of if I wanted to use my last 2 certificates, I would have have to schedule both within the week or they would expire. Mind you this has only been a few months since they have been purchased, and my friend never explained this to me.

I told the lady on the phone that there is no way I could schedule 2 as I was going out of town. She told me this was my loss. I asked for the manager....no ma'am!

I explained "For a massage company, you really know how to stress out your customers...".

Needless to say I won my battle, but using up the last 2 massages was rather torturous.

Pay double the price and go half as often at a real spa to get the massage we all deserve.
