What a disappointment. I was super excited to try Houston's newest slider joint.
My understanding is that Bigs has the same creator as Reef (correct me if I'm wrong). Back when Reef opened up, I had ordered their beef sliders and was in heaven.
Perhaps I should blame myself for thinking I'd get the same experience at Little Bigs.
On to the review:
They have 3 kinds of sliders (beef, chicken and mushroom). I went with a sampler and got one of each.
Beef was definitely the best - however it was nothing to write home about. That is all I can say about it.
Mushroom - The shroom burger was definitely overpowered by the oozing sauce bursting from the middle of the patty. I thought it was mustard, others though it was cheese. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy both of these toppings - but not on this slider.
Chicken - EW. Breaded but bland. It's as if the cook had never heard of seasoning or spice before.
In general, the buns could have been better on all of the sliders.
Enough with the scrooge talk. There was 1 pro:
The patio is adorable. I give the outdoor seating an A for ambiance. I could see it being a great place for an intimate birthday party with 10 of your closest friends on a Sunday afternoon...if the sliders were worth it.
Bottom line - Great Idea. Awful Execution.
