The Burger House

"Save Money! Eat Here!" boasted the sign outside of the Burger House.....

....so we did.

My gal pal and I were on a random day trip to Kemah (a first for both of us). After perusing the Boardwalk, we quickly realized we could find any of these Landry's establishments inside Houston city limits and decided to get more adventurous by dining elsewhere.

The Burger House was one of the few restaurants on the outskirts of the Boardwalk. Appropriately titled, The Burger House had a fantastic selection of burgers including my personal fave (shrooms, onions and swiss). My friend ended up with the Baja Burger which included guac and this awesome chipotle mayo.

How did these burgers fare? A-OK!

Both burgers were medium well (although I prefer medium rare), not to thin / not too thick. Buns were delicous and GOLDEN (probably from all the butter - but when in Kemah.....).

They offer both waffle fries and onion rings as sides. I opted for the "frings" (half waffle fries, have rings). PERFECTION. The waffle fries were crispy and well seasoned. The onion rings had the perfect batter to onion ratio in each bite.

Service was terrific! We ordered at the bar and had our meals within minutes. The staff was friendly and down to earth.

I also enjoyed the down home feel to the restaurant. It had limited seating but this was not an issue. They also have a wrap around patio to enjoy your meal (too humid for this particular day).

If you want to avoid the cheese factor, prices, and chaos of the Boardwalk like we did, The Burger House is an excellent option.

No seafood here, but let's face it, we can get great seafood inside Houston too.
